2009 Fall Sports Banquet!

On Sunday November 22, Bellarmine-Jefferson High held it’s Annual Fall Sports Banquet to honor athletes from cross country, girls volleyball and football.
This year, besides the normal success from cross country and assorted all-league awards, there was another historical first to celebrate compliments of the girls volleyball team. This 2009 squad was the first team to not only make it past the quarter finals but advance to the CIF finals.
Unfortunately, their run was stopped by Upland Christian Academy. Although disappointed with the outcome, the Lady Guards held their own against top-seeded Upland Christian. Bell-Jeff kept it close in all three games even holding held leads in every game. In the end, Upland Christian just had more experience and went on to win it all. The 4 time league champion CIF Div 4AA Runner Up’s will receive a banner in the gym and with a squad of mostly sophomores a chance to win it all again for the next two years.
Some of the all-league honorees were:
Volleyball
Breanna Pedron, Jocelyn Cervantes (co-MVP’s)
Cross Country
April Tiscareno (MVP), Rishonda Napier, Janell Gabb - Bryan Encerraro (MVP), Isael Farias
Football
Micah Shirley, Alex Davidians (MVP), Abdo Hajj
