Changing of the Guard at Bell-Jeff!
April 6, 2009 by admin
Eli Essa was in Detroit on Saturday watching the NCAA men’s basketball Final Four.
Essa might also be a spectator for the 2009-10 high school basketball season after he was informed Thursday by the administration at Bell-Jeff of Burbank that they would begin the search for a new boys’ basketball coach.
Essa, who coached Bell-Jeff for 14 years, was told by the administration that they wanted to take the program in a different direction. The Guards finished 16-12 this season.

What a shocker!! I saw a few games this year and thought to myself this my be Eli’s best coaching job in his 14 years while at Bell-Jeff, to finish 16-12 with that group of players was truly in my opinion his best coaching job while at Bell-Jeff. Which makes me wonder what in the world is the Bell-Jeff administration thinking. It just doesn’t make any sense.
