Bell-Jeff Gets In Line With Simpler Offense!

July 13, 2011 by

After going 2-8 last year for its first sub-.500 football season since 2007, Bell-Jeff is going back to basics.

A one-year flirtation with a wide-open passing offense is over, coach Rolando Aguirre said.

“We tried it, going to a passing offense, and we ended up struggling, so we’re going back to what we do best,” Aguirre said. “We’re going to get after it and run the football with some play-action passes. It’s going to be fun.”

Bell-Jeff has the offensive line to pull it off. Bryan Valle is 6 feet 3, 310 pounds, and Ryan Okiishi is 6-1, 275.

“I am telling you – look out for this offensive line,” Aguirre said. “It looks like we’re going to be pretty good. I’m excited about this team, and we’re working hard to get ready.”

Joshua Martinez, a junior running back, should play an important role, along with quarterback Mitch Kellogg.
