November 13, 2010 by

BURBANK – Bell-Jeff’s Layana White has switched her college choice.

After originally committing to Idaho, White received an offer from Arizona and quickly chnaged her mind.

White is a senior guard, who transferred from Canyon last year.

“I wanted to stay closer to home and it has always been a dream to play in the Pac-10,” White said. “Now all my friends and family can have a chance to see me play.”

White would like win a championship before she leaves high school.

Bell-Jeff lost to Windward last season in the semifinals.

The Guards should do well this season behind White, Rishonda Napier, Leslie Lopez-Wood and Jasmine Smith under the direction of new head coach Jaclyn Johnson. related story
