All-Area Team Selections!

BURBANK- The following players were named to the Burbank Leader All-Area teams…
ALL-AREA FIRST TEAM
Tia Chen, Senior/Guard, La Canada
Was the Rio Hondo co-Player of the Year. She averaged 13.7 points, 5.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 3.6 steals a game and helped the Spartans reach the second round of the CIF playoffs.
Margeaux Gupilan, Senior, Guard/Bell-Jeff

The Santa Cruz Player of the Year helped the Guards to a league title and the state playoffs. The All-CIF pick averaged 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists a game.
Megan Mushashi, Senior, Guard/Flintridge Prep
Was a driving force for the Rebels, earning All-CIF accolades. Also earned first-team all-league honors averaging 18.1 points, 3.6 steals and 3.7 assists in league play.
Jasmine Smith, Sophmore, Forward/Bell-Jeff
Helped the Guards to the CIF semifinals, earning All-CIF accolades for her efforts. She also was a first-team all-league pick, averaging 12.2 points, 12.8 rebounds and 2.6 blocks.
Layana White, Junior, Guard/Bell-Jeff
Made an instant impact in her first season with the Guards. While earning first-team all-league honors, she averaged 12.6 points and 4.5 steals a game for the league-champions.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Bryan Camacho,
Bell-Jeff
With his team putting together another fine season, Camacho earns the All-Area honor for the second straight season. His Guards put together a 25-7 record, won their third straight Santa Cruz League title, advanced to the Division IVA semifinals and won a game in state competition.
ALL-AREA SECOND TEAM
The Rio Hondo League first-team recipient averaged 13.6 points and 10.9 rebounds a contest for the Spartans.
Lisha Elsenbach, Junior, Guard/Burroughs
Courtney McCutchan, Senior/Forward,
La Canada
The Rio Hondo League co-Player of the Year helped pace the Spartans by tallying 13.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.0 steals.
Christine Mallari, Senior, Forward, Providence
Was an All-CIF selection and was named the Liberty League Player of the Year, leading the Pioneers to a league championship.
Rishonda Napier, Sophomore, Guard/Bell-Jeff
Making her second All-Area appearance, she earned first-team all-league accolades, averaging 13.2 points and 3.3 steals.
